Free Preventive Care Benefits Health Plans Must Offer
To comply with the Affordable Care Act, health insurance plans must offer free preventive care benefits to all policyholders.

Under the Affordable Care Act, all Marketplace available health plans must cover a list of preventive services at no costs, without charging a copayment or coinsurance, even if you haven’t met your yearly deductible.
Free Preventive Care Benefits for Adults
Please note that these services must be delivered by a doctor or provider in your plan’s network in order to be free.
Free Preventive Care for Women
Women benefit from additional free preventive care services, as long as they’re delivered by an in-network provider. These include, but are not limited to regular well-woman visits, breast and cervical cancer screening, osteoporosis and STD screening, as well as care related to family planning, pregnancy and breastfeeding. The full list of free preventive care for women is available on the Heathcare.gov website.
